Filled with the scents of holidays, this sugar scrub is great to make for festive gifts. With orange and nutmeg notes, it is a sweet addition to a wellness basket, and is quick and inexpensive to whip up for stocking stuffers or any other gift need.
One thing I love for the holidays is something I can create once, and use for multiple gifts or create in a few hours. This sugar scrub recipe is extremely simple, and can be whipped up in the margins of an evening, or even in between a more involved craft process, like waiting for melt-and-pour soap to set.
Pair this sugar scrub with a lip balm, a bath bomb or bath salt blend,ย and a balm or moisturizer, for a multi-piece wellness basket. Add some edible consumables too, like tea from your garden, or fresh winter cookies, if desired. Tailor your wellness basket to the gift recipient, and save a few items for yourself too through the fun of batch creation!
Note: Do not consume, sugar scrubs are a cosmetic product for topical use only.

Directions:
I like mixing sugar scrubs in a 4 cup measuring cup, this makes for easier clean up and easier transfer to jars.
- Measure the sugar and oil into a large bowl, or glass measuring cup.
- Grate and add the orange zest, and add the grated nutmeg.
- Stir together well, until the oil is mixed into the sugar.
- Add the sweet orange essential oil, and mix well again.
- Spoon the finished sugar scrub into small jars, add a tag, ribbon, or whatever you’d like to dress up the jars. Enjoy gifting, and using, this sweetly scented scrub.
To Use: Apply sugar scrub to damp or dry skin as an exfoliate. Then rinse off with warm water. This scrub is great for hands and feet. Avoid using near sensitive areas, as nutmeg can be an irritant.
More Quick Gift Ideas:
There are many variations of sugar scrubs that you can make. A few drops of a fir or spruce essential oil can make an evergreen scented sugar scrub. A few drops of lavender or ylang ylang can make an amazing floral sugar scrub.
If you mix up the oil and sugar in a larger batch, you can separate out 1 or 1/2 cup amounts of the mix and just add different essential oils to each one. Omit adding the nutmeg if you wish to do this.
