A lot of the Homestead lifestyle is about making healthier choices, eating organically, growing your own food, and pushing back from the corporate control of your lifestyle, which keeps people sick, dependent, and broken.
In fact,
statistics show that about 2/3rds of American adults are obese or overweight.
1 out of every 3 people will have cancer sometime in their life. By 2020, the estimated ratio increases to 1 out of every 2 with cancer.
795,000 people suffer from strokes each year; 1.5 million suffer from heart attacks.
Heart disease is on the rise, thyroid problems, panic attacks, depression, fibromyalgia, IBS, …and the list could go on and on!
These facts make US citizens one of the most unhealthiest groups of people in the world!
Canadians don’t fall far behind in these statistics.

I am new to the homesteader’s lifestyle and am currently working on a container garden – I would love to be able to put in some raised beds and get my kids more involved in growing our food.
This first thing I’d buy is Jay Robb Protein and one of Maria Emmerich’s books
I was just looking at backup generators and I would like to get one so this would really help pay for that. My only heat source is electricity at the moment. I am also sourcing woodstoves … the kind you can cook on.
I need to stock up on some bulk herbs, bees wax, and some more rare essential oils I dont have yet! I also need a mixer, food processor, and a personal chef to use them for me 😉
The one thing it’s really horrible that I don’t have is a shower filter. I am still exposed to chlorine and flouride in the shower. I am also working on planting a lot of edibles in my yard; I buy from small farms now, but it’s so much more sustainable to simply have your own.
