Joybilee Farm is Celebrating!
On Thursday Joybilee Farm’s Facebook Page made 5K fans.ย This is an exciting achievement that we’ve been working on since June 2011 and we didn’t do it alone.ย Our friends and fans on Facebook shared the daily free Kindle posts and shared our blog articles to help us reach the 5K milestone.ย Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness in sharing my posts.ย I am very grateful.

We are just getting a good start by clearing our newly bought small farm that is grown over with tallow trees, rattlebush, and assorted vines. We have been eradicating poison ivy all summer!

Kate, go ahead and ‘buy’ all the free homeschooling books you want. Amazon will hold them for you in your Kindle account and when you do get a kindle or kindle app for computer or phone, the books will be there to download when you are ready.

Deb, have you downloaded the free Kindle app for your computer? You would be able to read them on your computer then. Or you can get the freebies and read them online in the Amazon cloud. Its all free. And once you ‘buy’ a book, even for free, you will be able to access it anytime — so go ahead and get the freebies now and once you sort out being able to read them on your computer, you can download them as you like.

Love your blog. We planted our winter garden the end of September and replanted again a few weeks ago. In the low sw desert in suburbia, I’ve turned all the decorative rock yard border into raised beds. We even grew corn this year!

Hi, I love your fb entries and your blog! I’m an “urban” farmer (lol, deck gardening) homesteader wannabe. I do have an actual garden just over sixty miles from where I live, on my sister’s property. She has 6 free-range organic hens and I’m totally envious! I would like to see posts about preparing for the gardening season. When should I start seeds, how to prepare the ground, what should I be doing now.

Tabitha, you don’t need to have a Kindle to get the free books. There’s a free app from Amazon so you can download them to your computer or phone. You can even buy them for free and read them online in the cloud. So make sure you pick the freebies up while they are still free. Some of them are full length books that are $20 or more in the print edition. (Admittedly some of them are also crap, but you can delete those if you don’t like them.)

I would personally love to see more about anything to do with herbs – eating, preserving, making medicine (both internal and topical). But also, I’d love to see more just plain examples of stuff you do, be it food related, animal related, garden related, or craft related. I would so love to own a Kindle! I have downloaded the free app to use with my pc, so I do benefit from the free book offers, but would be in “Readers Heaven” if I had a ‘portable’ Kindle! My eyesight should hold for a few yrs yet, and with the lighted page and no glare it will improve this! I very much like that there is an audio option also, for the yrs ahead. Thank you so much for your kindness & generosity in providing this drawing!
