Today’s Creative Spark is made with stamping.ย No drawing skills necessary.
Materials List:
Paper such as the Artist Trading Cards, water colour paper
Water colour paints, or tempera paints, or stamping inks and pad
Flat edge paint brush
Fruit or vegetable with interesting textures or shapes
Gold or Copper Sharpie Marker
Directions:
Simple directions are — take a fruit or vegetable and slice it so that you have a shape that you like.ย Using water colours, tempura paint, or a stamp pad, cover the surface of the cut side and stamp it on your paper.ย Using a flat edge paint brush, putty knife, or other flat edge, dip in paint/ink and outline the first shape by stamping in the contours with a second colour to give definition.ย ย Then take a small sponge and a third colour and stamp with the sponge in the background to add texture.ย If you are using water colours, add some salt to the wet areas and allow to dry.ย Brush off the salt.ย Add a line with your metallic sharpie to frame the picture.ย Done.
