Description

A simple loofah soap for exfoliation and skin care. Great for gifts, or for using year-round.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 ounces melt and pour base
  • 1 teaspoon madder, in a teabag
  • 1 teaspoon calendula in a teabag
  • 40 drops vanilla love essential oil blend
  • Round, 4 ounce soap mold (at least 1 inch deep)
  • Loofah sponge slices, ¾ – 1 inch thick
  • Rubbing alcohol in a spritz bottle

Instructions

  1. Chop the melt and pour soap, set up a double boiler to melt it.
  2. Place calendula tea-bag in the melting soap.
  3. Once soap is melted, let the herb infuse in it for 30 minutes. Maintain soap temperature at around 120F.
  4. Once the soap is fully melted, add the essential oils.
  5. Make sure the essential oils are blended into the soap.
  6. Prepare the mold by spritzing with rubbing alcohol, set a luffa section in each mold and spritz the loofah with rubbing alcohol.
  7. Pour into the prepared molds, press loofah slices down into the soap to make sure they are fully covered. Top up molds if necessary.
  8. Let fully harden.
  9. Remove from mold, wrap in plastic wrap when solid.
