When you understand these herbs it opens a brand new perspective on health and wellness. These wild herbs are just waiting for you to discover them and enlist their help for your own and your family’s well being.
Workshop Objective
The goal of this workshop is simple: to help you easily and confidently learn to forage and harvest herbs and make herbal remedies so that you can take charge of your own well being, and maybe even help your friends and family with your knowledge of herbs.
Today I’ll show you one easy to identify herb that even children can learn to identify. Then we’ll look at some of the easy to make herbal remedies that you can make from this herb. We’ll talk about safe foraging and also how to ensure that you harvest your foraged herbs when they are most potent for safe and also vital remedies.
We’ll also look at the dollar value of making your own remedies at home and how it compares to buying remedies from a health food store or supplement provider. Making your own herbal remedies is a cost effective strategy for personal and community wellness.
We’ll also examine the time factor and I’ll show you how to manage making herbal remedies and building your own customized herbal apothecary even if you are super busy and don’t have a whole lot of time to yourself. It really is doable.

I am always so grateful that people like you take the time to pass on this valuable knowledge – for free!! Video 1 made me smile – you nailed it about the herbs, oils, training programmes etc sitting around never used. My problem isn’t so much lack of time but lack of a structured way to approach the whole area of family herbalism. There are so many things to know and if you miss the season you need to wait another year to gather your herbs – but you didn’t gather them this season because you didn’t remember what they were , when to harvest what, what they were good for or what to do with them. At least if I only have to focus on 10-12 I might stand a chance of getting somewhere. Looking forward to the next 2 videos. This one has helped so much.
Thank you for emphasizing how we can just take a few minutes for each step to accomplish these things in our busy lives! I’ve been harvesting different herbs as I learn about the & dehydrating them. But I’m collecting a large supply of dried herbs that I can’t remember what they were supposed to be for. I took lots of note on this and I’m starting a notebook of herbs with their benefits so I can refer to it. I have harvested plantain & dried it. Some Amish friends told us last year to chew a fresh leaf of plantain for heartburn & it really helped! But I had no idea it could help so many things & be similar to comfrey. Excited to try it for more!
Yes please thank you
Wonderful information on plantain Chris. Thank you
Wonderful overview of Plantain- Thank you- posted on facebook and shared in messenger with many friends- I hope they take the time to learn.
Wish you would have covered the two or three types of plantain- not everyone has the round one- there is also the skinny one and the other one. Thanks again…………
Looking forward to learning more plants!!
