How to Make a Tallow Lotion Bar

Description

A tallow lotion bar that is easy to make, and can be customized if desired.


Ingredients

Scale
  • ¼ cup olive oil or herb infused oil
  • ¼ cup tallow
  • ¼ cup beeswax pastilles
  • 35 to 50 drops Lavender Essential Oil


Instructions

  1. Create a double boiler with a glass measuring cup and small saucepan.
  2. Measure the olive oil, tallow, and beeswax into the cup.
  3. Warm until the beeswax melts, monitor closely. Remove from heat.
  4. Add the essential oils and stir till combined.
  5. Pour into 2 ounce molds, silicon soap molds or candy molds work well. You can also use smaller molds, which will give you more bars.
  6. Allow the lotion bars to cool completely before removing from the molds.
  7. Package individually in 2 ounce tins or in groups in a jar, separated with cupcake liners. Small molds, like chocolate molds, can make single use bars that can also be packaged similarly for gifting. Use mini cup cake liners for mini bars.
  8. Store finished bars in a cool, dry place. The bars make great gifts, and are great to keep on hand for convenience when you run out too.
